FEATURED COACHES
ANTHONY FUHRMAN
Born and raised in Erie, PA, Anthony Fuhrman took the scenic route through life—by way of war zones, weight rooms, and one very expensive knee replacement. Graduating high school in 2006, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an 11C Infantry Mortarman, deploying to Iraq (2007-08) and Afghanistan (2009-10) before transitioning into the fine art of recruiting (aka convincing 17-year-olds that push-ups build character). After retiring from the military, he traded in his rifle for a barbell, launching a career in strength sports and coaching.
In the world of strongman, Anthony proved that being built like a refrigerator has its advantages. He became a two-time World’s Strongest Man (105kg) champion (2018, 2019), snagged silver at America’s Strongest Man (2017, 2019), and competed in the Arnold Pro Strongman Series—all while keeping his joints held together with sheer willpower and, eventually, titanium. His 1,800lb powerlifting total confirms that he’s still stronger than your average pickup truck.
Academically, Anthony somehow found time to earn a B.S. in Health & Sport Science and a Master’s in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville. He’s a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), and, because life isn’t challenging enough, is set to become a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) at Mercyhurst University in 2025.
As a coach, Anthony has worked with high school teams, professional strongmen and strongwomen, and athletes from various disciplines, applying a mix of science, experience, and the occasional tough love speech. He believes in training smart, lifting heavy, and never skipping leg day (even if one knee has been entirely replaced).
If you’re looking for someone who’s been blown up, broken down, and rebuilt stronger—both literally and figuratively—you won’t find a better example than Anthony Fuhrman.
